360° Holistic Development

Kindergarten

Essentially, Kindergarten is a delicate process preparing a child for schooling years by instilling discipline, patience and a never-ending spirit to learn.

Our teaching methodology is a fine balance of Science and Human Values. We do not believe in pressurizing young minds. Teachers encourage learning by doing rather than the ‘commit to memory’ approach. On your visit to the kindergarten section, you will find fully air conditioned classrooms, equipped with latest Audio-Visual teaching aids, and a fun and learning-filled environment.

  • The children indulge in multifarious activities throughout the year. These activities are an integrated part of the curriculum and substantiate classroom learning. Art competitions, Annual days, Grandparents Day, Magic Shows, class presentations and other special events help shape children into multifaceted individuals.
  • Children learn the value of cultural festivals by participating in Special Assemblies conducted on Diwali, Dusshera, Christmas, Children’s Day, Republic Day and Independence Day.
  • Learning is more enjoyable by incorporating curriculum-related games into classroom instruction; such activities help children develop their minds and thinking abilities.
  • Computers are an integral part of the curriculum; children enjoy and pick up basic computer skills through games and child-friendly software.

Primary-Middle School

These years are best summarized as “Active Moulding”. Children at this stage are experiencing and understanding the world actively. At Homerton, the curriculum is based on the modern educational approach, which marks a shift from teaching to learning. The focus is on equipping the students with essential skills and giving them the confidence to use them effectively in real-life situations. They are prepared for the real world, value relationships in life and see themselves as the torchbearers who raise humanity.

The curriculum lays stress on knowledge beyond books and discourages rote learning.

Various activities are carried out apart from the regular curriculum to keep the children interested and to enhance their skills, imagination and creative prowess.

Children at this age need as many platforms as possible to express themselves. School actively aids children in this process of self-discovery as creativity and imagination are central to our existence.

Senior

In keeping with current trends, students at this stage must be mentally and physically prepared to face today's high competition. The school uses ‘Child-Centered Paedagogy,' which is interactive, experimental and facilitative.

The curriculum is multi-pronged, encompassing the diverse ways in which children learn individually and collaboratively. Active participation in the classroom plays a predominant role in awakening students' thirst for knowledge in these crucial years.

Project Based Learning, Field Visits, Debates, Community Service Projects, Counselling and Guest Lectures by eminent personalities from diversified portfolios are regular features in the senior wing. Stretching the boundaries of learning leaves an indelible imprint on the students' minds
